The best thing the Egyptian regime and Sadat did is making peace with Israel.
There are things I disagree with Sadat on, but that’s not the topic now. If the regime after the military coup ever did anything good, it was when Sadat during his presidency agreed to make peace with Israel. It’s funny that some Arab nationalists and especially non-Egyptians in the region hate Sadat for that reason! Peace stopped the unnecessary bloodshed and waste of Egyptian money.
